This is a second study on different plots, for a city campus, at a walking distance from the American University of Beirut, an opportunity to fulfill the growing demand for students and faculty housing.
It is a vision for a vibrant, communal and interactive hub, an exemplar specimen of a co-living, socially collaborative, ‘living and learning’ environment. A place where students - undergrads, graduates, post-graduates, resident interns and possibly faculty - intermingle seamlessly and connect with citizens at large, in a consolidated efficient and cost effective mixed-use development.
Several massing and skin finishes were explored, some with color panels, reminiscent of Beirut sixties’ architecture.
